The Wilder Kaiser - Brixental lifts and cable-cars offer a taste of nature during the summer months
Those seeking a unique taste of nature in the great outdoors will find just what they want with the lifts and cable cars of the Wilder Kaiser -Brixental region. From May to October, they provide a comfortable ascent for all mountain activity enthusiasts. The SkiWelt Adventure Hiking Pass allows you to make use of all 12 cable cars and lifts; it also includes free use of all six mountain theme parks (Hexenwasser in Hochsöll, Hohe Salve, Kaiserwelt in Scheffau, Filzalmsee lake in Hochbrixen, Ellmi’s Zauberwelt in Ellmau and Alpinolino in Westendorf). The “Kaiserjet” bus service, for hikers and bathers, is also free for pass holders.
“Active in the Mountains” with the Adventure Hiking Pass
With over 700 kilometres of well-marked, hiking paths affording views across seventy 3,000 metre peaks, the possibilities are simply endless. The circular walking paths and high altitude hiking trails are particularly breathtaking and are easy to reach using the cable cars and lifts. A tip: those who want to go easy on their joints should make the ascent on foot and then “spare their knees” by gently soaring back down to the valley using the lift or cable car.
Going in the summer
You can “experience nature” every day in Going at the foot of the bizarre rock faces and peaks of the majestic, towering Wilder Kaiser mountain range. Some say that the Kaiser range is the most scenic here because the village of Going is situated in the heart of one of Austria’s most beautiful winter landscapes. Idyllic winter-walking trails set amidst enchanting scenery not only lead you up to the highest peaks, but also along the valley floor to the neighbouring villages of Ellmau and St. Johann.
The traditional Tyrolean village has preserved its alpine charm which is one of the reasons why so many well-known figures choose to come to Going - not only because of the world-renowned Stanglwirt hotel, but also because of the traditional farming lifestyle and rustic taverns where you can “just be yourself” for a change. Relax and let your soul drift - not just slogans, but a way of life here in Going.
